Explore Abu Dhabi’s Corniche
Stretching out over eight kilometres, the
Corniche is Abu Dhabi’s main beachfront
encompassing family beaches, playgrounds,
palm tree-lined pedestrian walkways and
change facilities. One section with a grassed
lawn and picnic area is fenced off for families
only with a small entry fee. An area called Al
Bahar is designed as a family entertainment
zone and includes Aqua Fun – an inÁatable
obstacle course on the water – as well as a
giant playground (free) and many paid activities
including rope courses and arcade-style games
and eateries. All along the Corniche there is a
pedestrian path as well as a bike path.
Keep fit for free at
Yas Marina Circuit
Early-risers can head to Yas Marina Circuit
from 5-8am on a Monday, Wednesday and
Thursday morning to start the day with some
free exercise training around the 5.55km
track. For those who don’t mind the heat,
the Tuesday night event (where you can also
run around the track) will continue even in
summer from 6-10pm. Until September 22.

Night strolls around The Beach
Offering countless restaurants, a beach,
playground, cushioned running track, ice
cream parlours, outdoor gym equipment,
market stalls and more to enjoy after sunset,
this spot is a hit with families all year round.
It’s also home to Pots, Pans & Boards, the
current winner of Time Out Dubai’s Best
Breakfast award 2019.

Roam the lanes of Al Seef
On the Bur Dubai side of Dubai Creek, part of
this development is designed to transport you
back to a bygone age. Packed with old-style
buildings, cobbled back alleys and weathered
huts, this is like a walking history tour for
kids. The restaurants, cafés and shops lean
on the contemporary elements of Dubai life,
but reÁect and pay homage to its history.

Set sail at Dubai Creek
Embrace Dubai’s past with a visit to the
buzzing Old Town and stroll along Dubai
Creek. If you have a few shiny Dhs1 coins
to spare, you can take the kids on an abra
(water taxi) ride across the water. The short
trip connects the spice and gold souks, Bur
Dubai and Deira, both of which are free to
roam around. A stint on board a sailing abra
surrounded by the old city makes for the ideal
family photo opportunity.
O Dhs1 per passenger, Dubai Creek.
