it’s set to be a treat for audiences of all ages...

his August, Dubai Opera is hosting a
magical Àlm festival for the kids – and
your own inner child – with an incredible
line-up of Disney Classics. Screeningsincluding all-time favourites, with four movies
shown every single day between August 15and August 30, celebrating animated and live-
action titles from across the decades.“Dubai Opera is a place for everyone in the

movie classics.”Some of the titles showing during this
Àrst festival of its kind in Dubai include The
Little Mermaid, Lady and the Tramp, MaryPoppins, Peter Pan, Cinderella, Bedknobs
And Broomsticks, The Aristocats and Honey IShrunk the Kids. The schedule even includes
a special Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along onFriday August 16, giving you and the kids the
chance to belt out all of your favourite songs.
But that’s not all Dubai Opera has comingup for fans of the arts. On September 20 and
21 the venue will take fans on a journey backto the Wizarding World with Harry Potter and
the Prisoner of Azkaban Live in Concert.As Christmas approaches, festive specials
are in store, including Tchaikovsky’s iconic
ballet The Nutcracker from December 4 to 7.December also heralds the return of Jingle
Bell Favourites (it really is a favourite), a familyconcert of carols and seasonal hits performed
by the London Concert Orchestra Show Band,Capital Voices and West End Soloists, from
December 12 to 14.
For older audiences, Dubai Opera hasno shortage of varied entertainment on the
horizon, starting with Puccini’s Turandot,dance drama Early Spring and comedy from
Josh Widdicombe.Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing
will also arrive on the arts centre’s stage
for the Àrst time. Expect a modern take onthis timeless play, which will resonate with
audiences thanks to a vibrant, funny andprofoundly moving production directed by the
talented Derek Bond.Also coming up is Gladiator Live in Concert
(bring a handkerchief for that heart-wrenching
score...), with a symphony orchestraperforming Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard’s
iconic work.And that’s still not all. Dubai Opera’s
calendar is also packed with the likes ofPassenger, Bootleg Beatles, a-ha, Lea Salonga
and the arrival, for the Àrst time ever in
Dubai, of the world’s most popular musical,The Phantom of the Opera.
