Pruning:
The development of flower buds
happens in June and July. The new
shoots should be cut back to two or
three buds and will then develop
flowers for the following year. If you
can't prune at the appropriate time,
or are unsure of where the flower
buds are, wait until October or even
the following spring when the flower
buds are much more obvious, and
you can prune safely. Pruning is done
after flowering, once the flowers are
70 to 80% done, remove them and
perform post-flowering pruning. If
the flowers are left on the tree there
is a strong possibility that they will
turn to seed, which will place large
stress on the tree and weaken it, so
it is best to remove them as soon as
possible.Wisteria - HUSBANDRY
Propagate:
With cuttings, air layer or
seed.Placement:
Protect against frosts. Likes
full sun, but during hot
summers put in semi-shade.Repotting:
Allow the plant to become pot bound
for flowering; repotting will
promote foliage and branch
growth.Watering:
A very thirsty tree. Let it
stand in a tray with water in
summer. During the dormant season
keep moist.56 Bonsai Focus
