world was introduced to Mia Thermopolis, the teenage heir to a fictional
European kingdom in The Princess Diaries, the film that sent Hathaway’s star
heavenward. Mia wore braces and was prone to fashion blunders like
bucket hats. Nearly two decades later the bucket hat is back, on 2019’s runways
and on Hathaway—only this time it’s a fashion statement by Albertus
Swanepoel and almost fit for the cover of Allure. (This was an alternate shot.)
