CUT FABRICS
Cut pieces in the following order.
From solid white, cut:
▫ 11—1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips
From solid tan, cut:
▫ 11—1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips
▫ 1—19^1 ⁄ 2 × 281 ⁄ 2 " rectangle
▫ 1—6^1 ⁄ 2 × 131 ⁄ 2 " rectangle
ASSEMBLE BAG BODY
Measurements include^1 ⁄ 4 " seam
allowances. Sew with right sides
together unless otherwise stated.
Press seams in directions indicated
by arrows on diagrams. If no direction
is specified, press seam toward darker
fabric.
- Referring to Diagram 1, alternate
six solid white 1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips and five
solid tan 1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips; sew together
to make strip set A. Cut strip set into
nineteen 1^1 ⁄ 2 "-wide A segments.
2. Referring to Diagram 2, alternate
remaining solid tan and solid white
11 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips; sew together to make
strip set B. Cut strip set into nineteen
11 ⁄ 2 "-wide B segments.
FINISHED BAG: 11× 13 ×6"

Yardages and cutting instructions
are based on 42" of usable fabric
width.

▫ 11 ⁄ 4 yards solid tan (bag body,
lining)
▫ 23 ×31" piece heavyweight
stabilizer (such as ByAnnie’s Soft
and Stable; byannie.com) or quilt
batting
▫ Water-soluble fabric pen
▫ 1 pair approximately 25"-long
sew-on purse handles (available
at etsy.com and crafts supply
stores)
