How to Create a Design Wall


MATERIALS:



  • 3/4"-thick piece plywood in
    desired size

  • Batting at least 4" wider on all
    sides than plywood piece

  • White flannel sheet at least 4"
    wider on all sides than plywood
    piece

  • Upholstery adhesive spray

  • Staple gun and staples

ON THE GO


Keep your hand-sewing tools
and projects in a portable
storage container.

COMFY NOOK


Create a cozy
sitting area where
you can relax and
work on hand-
sewing projects.

Place plywood on a flat surface.
Spray plywood with upholstery
adhesive.
Before adhesive dries, cover
plywood with batting, leaving
at least 4" extending past each
plywood edge. Smooth batting.
Turn plywood batting side down.

Working on opposite plywood
edges, pull batting taut and
staple it to plywood. Repeat with
remaining edges.

Wrap batting-covered side of
plywood with flannel sheet.
Staple as before. Trim away
excess batting and flannel.
Hang using a hanger kit that
has anchor screws (such as
Hangman Ook 55316 200).
