ASSEMBLE A BLOCKS
Measurements include^1 ⁄ 4 " seam
allowances. Sew with right sides
together unless otherwise stated.
Press seams in directions indicated
by arrows on diagrams. If no direction
is specified, press seam toward darker
fabric.
- Use a pencil to mark a diagonal line
on one side of 224 solid white 2^1 ⁄ 2 "
squares. - Align a marked solid white square
with one corner of solid medium peach
6" square (Diagram 1; note direction
of marked line). Sew on marked line.
Trim excess fabric, leaving a^1 ⁄ 4 " seam
allowance. Press open attached
triangle. Add a second marked triangle
to opposite corner of square to make a
medium peach corner unit. - Repeat Step 2 to make 56 total
medium peach corner units total. - Repeat Step 2 using solid dark
peach 6" squares instead of solid
medium peach to make 56 dark peach
corner units (Diagram 2).
5. Referring to Diagram 3 for color
order, sew together a solid white
21 ⁄ 2 ×42" strip, a solid dark aqua 1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42"
strip, a solid medium aqua 1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42"
strip, a solid light aqua 1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strip,
and a solid white 1×42" strip to make
an aqua strip set. Repeat to make six
aqua strip sets total.
6. Cut strip sets into 148 aqua 1^1 ⁄ 2 "-
wide segments. Set aside 36 aqua
segments for Block B.
7. Referring to Diagram 4, lay out four
aqua segments, two medium peach
corner units, two dark peach corner
units, and one solid dark peach 1^1 ⁄ 2 "
square in three rows. Sew together
pieces in rows. Join rows to make
Block A. The block should be 12^1 ⁄ 2 "
square including seam allowances.
8. Repeat Step 7 to make 28 A blocks
total.
ASSEMBLE B BLOCKS
- Use a pencil to mark a diagonal line
on one side of remaining solid white
21 ⁄ 2 " squares.

units, and one solid dark peach 1^1 ⁄ 2 "
square in three rows. Sew together
pieces in rows. Join rows to make
Block B. The block should be 12^1 ⁄ 2 "
square including seam allowances. - Repeat Step 4 to make nine B blocks
total.
