  1. Sew together a dark peach segment
    and a medium aqua segment to
    make a dark peach Four-Patch unit
    (Diagram 11). The unit should be 3^1 ⁄ 2 "
    square including seam allowances.
    Repeat to make 24 dark peach Four-
    Patch units total.

  2. Sew together a medium aqua
    segment and a medium peach segment
    to make a medium peach Four-Patch
    unit (Diagram 12). The unit should be
    31 ⁄ 2 " square including seam allowances.
    Repeat to make 24 medium peach
    Four-Patch units total.

  3. Sew together solid dark aqua 2×42"
    strip and solid white 3^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strip to
    make a dark aqua strip set. Repeat to
    make three dark aqua strips sets total.
    Cut strip sets into 48 dark aqua 2"-
    wide segments (Diagram 13).

  4. Referring to Diagram 14, sew
    together a dark peach Four-Patch unit
    and a solid white 2× 31 ⁄ 2 " rectangle. Add
    a dark aqua segment to make a dark
    peach corner unit. The unit should be
    5" square including seam allowances.
    Repeat to make 24 dark peach corner
    units total.
    8. Referring to Diagram 15, sew
    together a medium peach Four-Patch
    unit and a solid white 2× 31 ⁄ 2 " rectangle.
    Add a dark aqua segment to make
    a medium peach corner unit. The
    unit should be 5" square including
    seam allowances. Repeat to make
    24 medium peach corner units total.
    9. Referring to Diagram 16, sew
    together a solid light peach 1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42"
    strip and two solid white 1^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips
    to make a light peach strip set. Repeat
    to make six light peach strip sets total.
    Cut strip sets into 48 light peach 5"-
    wide segments.
    10. Referring to Diagram 17, sew solid
    white triangles to opposite edges of
    solid dark peach 2^5 ⁄ 8 " square. Add solid
    white triangles to remaining edges to
    make a center unit. The unit should be
    31 ⁄ 2 " square including seam allowances.
    Repeat to make 12 center units total.
    11. Referring to Diagram 18, lay out
    four light peach segments, two dark
    peach corner units, two medium peach
    corner units, and one center unit in
    three rows. Sew together pieces in
    rows. Join rows to make Block C. The
    block should be 12^1 ⁄ 2 " square including
    seam allowances.
    12. Repeat Step 11 to make 12 C blocks
    total.


ASSEMBLE QUILT


  1. Referring to Quilt Assembly
    Diagram, page 52 for color placement,
    lay out blocks in seven rows. Sew
    together blocks in rows. Press seams
    in opposite directions, alternating
    direction with each row.

  2. Join rows to make quilt center.
    Press seams in one direction. The
    quilt center should be 84^1 ⁄ 2 " square
    including seam allowances.

  3. Cut and piece remaining solid white
    21 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips to make:
    ▫ 2—2^1 ⁄ 2 × 841 ⁄ 2 " border 1 strips
    ▫ 2—2^1 ⁄ 2 × 881 ⁄ 2 " border 1 strips

  4. Sew short border 1 strips to
    opposite edges of quilt center. Add
    long border 1 strips to remaining
    edges. Press all seams toward border 1.

  5. Cut and piece solid light peach
    2 ×42" strips to make:
    ▫ 2—2× 881 ⁄ 2 " border 2 strips
    ▫ 2—2× 911 ⁄ 2 " border 2 strips

  6. Sew short border 2 strips to
    opposite edges of quilt center. Add
    long border 2 strips to remaining
    edges. Press all seams toward
    border 2.
