ASSEMBLE QUILT TOP

1. Referring to Quilt Assembly
   Diagram for color placement and
   block orientation, lay out blocks in
   seven rows.


2. Sew together blocks in rows. Press
   seams in one direction, alternating
   direction with each row. Join rows to
   complete quilt top; press seams in one
   direction.

FINISH QUILT

1. Layer quilt top, batting, and backing;
   baste. (For details, see Complete Quilt,
   page 103.)
   2. Quilt as desired. Designer Heather
   Black machine-quilted in the ditch
   and outline-quilted in the background
   (Quilting Diagram). She machine-
   quilted an expanding diamond design
   in each 5^1 ⁄ 2 " square, straight parallel
   lines in matching color areas of each
   unit, and a geometric grid where four
   blocks intersect.
   3. Bind with solid navy blue binding
   strips. (For details, see Complete Quilt.)
