to simulate the texture of a cord wrap.
The alternating raised/lowered pattern
creates a secure grip that meshes
with your hand and is effective with/
without gloves.
Full-tang construction gives the
Courage the chutzpah to withstand use
and abuse. The exposed tang edges are
rounded to provide grip continuity,
along with the machined G-10. A
window-breaker point is machined
into the exposed pommel.
At 12 inches overall the Courage is
formidable, and the blade has plenty
of reach and power for various cutting
tasks. I have a thick plastic chemical
drum—cleaned out, of course—that
I use for blade penetration tests.
Putting all my power into the stabbing
stroke, I drove the Courage halfway
into it in one stroke. The modified
tip penetrated easily. In slicing tests
the primary edge did well, biting into
cardboard and fire hose.
Of the review knives in a traditional
Japanese design, the Courage seems
the most modern thanks to its
machined G-10 handle and modified
tanto tip with the two distinct edge
angles. Nonetheless, its overall
appearance remains a stark reminder
of traditional Japanese knives.

The Condor Tool & Knife Yoshimi is a two-
handed machete. The handle is long enough
to accommodate both hands in a baseball-
bat-style grip for enhanced cutting power.
