Nextrow: Knit 20 stitches, cast off
16 sts, leaving 20 stitches on needle.
Turn and work 3 more rows. Cast off.
Return to remaining 20 stitches; work
3 rows and cast off.
RIGHT FRONT
Cast on 40 stitches.
Working in stocking stitch, increase
1 stitch at the beginning of each knit
row (the centre edge) until you have
56 stitches.
Work 2 rows without shaping, then
decrease 1 stitch at beginning of each
knit row.
Armhole shaping
Continue working until 34 cm from
beginning, cast off 5 stitches at the
beginning of the next purl row.
Next Row: Decrease 1 stitch at each
end of the next and alternate purl
rows, 4 times, then 1 stitch at each
end of each 4th row 3 times. At the
same time, continue to decrease 1
stitch at the beginning of each knit
row, until 20 sts remain.
Continue without shaping until work
measures 56cm. Cast off.
LEFT FRONT
Cast on 40 sts. Work as for right front,
reversing the shaping.
MAKING UP
It is recommended that you lightly
press and/or block your work. Sew
shoulder and side seams. Using a
5mm crochet hook, work one row of
DC around edges of the vest. Use
a scarf pin or decorative brooch to
fasten vest to fit.
