Horror, 10.55pm/Horror+1, 11.55pm 3

Sex OOO Violence OOO Language OOO

Eschewing sudden scares in favour of more insidious and far more unsettling

chills, this cunning home-invasion horror thriller stars Irish actress Sarah

Bolger, who is frighteningly good as the unhinged title character. Bolger’s

stone-cold psycho poses as a replacement babysitter when a married couple

go off to celebrate their 13th anniversary, but it doesn’t take long for the eldest

of her three charges (Joshua Rush) to twig that the strangely permissive sitter

has evil intentions. 2015, 15, 79MIN

CHILLER

Megamind
Film4 HD, 1.10pm/Film4+1, 2.10pm 4

Sex OOO Violence OOO Language OOO

This superhero spoof movie from DreamWorks has it all: bright and clever

animation, a smashing story, lots of laughs and exciting action, and terrific
characters and great vocal performances. Will Ferrell is splendid as the voice
of alien supervillain Megamind who, having defeated his lifelong nemesis, the

heroic Metro Man (Brad Pitt), is casting about for a new dastardly purpose in
life. Tina Fey adds an extra layer of fun as news reporter Roxanne Ritchi, as
does Jonah Hill as TV cameraman Hal. 2010, PG, 96MIN

takes on the web-slinging superhero’s

mantle after being bitten by a radioactive

spider, and he is soon encountering a

CHILLER

The Innkeepers
Horror, 9pm/Horror+1, 10pm 3

Sex OOO Violence OOO Language OOO

Chills rather than shocks are the order
of the day here, as Sara Paxton and Pat
Healy’s hotel desk clerks poke around
trying to record the ghostly activities of
a newlywed who hung herself while
honeymooning there, but become sure
that there are actually three ghosts
haunting the hotel... There is a fair
modicum of suspense and Paxton’s
anxious heroine is far more believable
than the thin stereotypes that populate
most horror offerings. 2011, 15, 101MIN

ACTION THRILLER

November Man
Sony Movie Channel, 9pm/
Sony Movie Channel+1, 10pm 4

Sex OOO Violence OOO Language OOO

The plot has more holes than a string
vest, but this slice of cloak-and-dagger
hokum does at least give former James
Bond Pierce Brosnan a chance to flex
his spy skills. He plays an ex-CIA man,
who runs up against his one-time
protégé (Luke Bracey) after he
steps out of the shadows to shield a
vulnerable war crimes witness (Olga
Kurylenko) from scores of murderous
spooks and goons. 2014, 15, 108MIN

PSYCHOLOGICAL DRAMA

Take Shelter
AMC HD, 9pm 4

Sex OOO Violence OOO Language OOO

A film for troubled times, Take Shelter
taps into anxieties about economic
meltdown and climate change with its
depiction of a man driven to the edge by
apocalyptic fears. Michael Shannon plays
a family man whose nightmarish visions
convince him that a huge tornado is
about to strike his small Ohio town,
leading him to throw all his energy and
money into enlarging his backyard storm
shelter. The film is gripping and unsettling
in equal measure. 2011, 15, 121MIN
