Making small parts using a mitersaw or table-
saw can be a dicey affair. You want clean-cut
edges while keeping your fingers well away
from the blade and avoiding the parts becom-
ing projectiles. Here’s a simple solution. On
your tablesaw set the blade height to cut just
shy of severing the workpiece free of your
blank. Then complete the cut with a chisel.
