Fabrics used
Q Jo used a mix of yellow, orange, pink,
red, mauve and turquoise prints from
her stash for the EPP garland. Each
background is a di erent low-volume
fabric with the EPP in a di erent
formation of colours. Each block has
one green fabric for the stems and then
a di erent green for the leaves on each
of the four stems. The flower heads on
each block are made with four di erent
fabrics, but the tiny circles are made
from the same coordinating fabric.
Notes
Q RST = Right sides together.

Once basted, sew your pieces
RST using small, neat whip or
ladder stitches that catch the edge
of the fabrics and not the papers
inside. First, stitch an A and B shape
together (Fig 1). Add a C square to
the bottom of the B shape (Fig 2).
8
Stitch a D triangle to the adjacent
side of the C square (Fig 3). Add
an E triangle to the third side of the
square (Fig 4) and an F shape to the
remaining side of the square (Fig 5).
9
Add another C square into the
right angle between the bottom
of the A and F shapes (Fig 6). Stitch
another D triangle to the next side
of the C square mirroring the first
(Fig 7), and an E triangle to the
remaining side (Fig 8). Stitch a
straight edge of a G shape to the top
edge of the E triangle (Fig 9).
Place a paper template on to the
centre of the WS of a corresponding
fabric piece and pin. Turn the edges
of the fabric over the paper and tack
