Repeatontheotherrawedgeofthe
backgroundstripand press strips open
(Fig 4 and Fig 5 ).

Now,repeattheprocess,gradually
fillingthefoundationwithstrips.
Pressworkaftereachsidehashad
stripsaddedtoit as this gives a much
better result.

Usethesamecolourprintfabrics
at thesepointswhenyougettothe
outerpointsofthediamond(seeFig 6 ,
onnextpage).It won’tlooklikeit now,
butwhenthetopcomestogether,these
pointswillform a hexagon centre.
Press well.

Thediamondscannowbetrimmed
totheiroriginalshape.Turnthe
blockoverandtrimexcessonall
four(4)edges.Don’tworryif the
foundationfabrichasdistortedslightly,
usethetemplatetocuttherightshape
(Fig 7A-7C). Make fifty-eight (58).

Now,makeeighteen(18)
hexagonsfromthediamonds.
Stitchtwo(2)diamondsRStogether,
stoppinginfromtherawedgeat
thebackgroundfabric.Pressseam
open.Now,setinthethirddiamond.
Todothis,lineupthefirstedges
and stitch from the outer raw edge

Repeattheprocessforthe
trianglesbutworkfromthe
base,startingwitha background
fabricandendingat thepointwith
a printfabricthesamecolourasthe
diamondpoints(Fig 8 ). Pressasyou
goandtrimusingthetemplate when
finished. Make ten (10).
