Wire and cable company
Champlain has launched a new
high-voltage battery cable called
the EXRAD ERGO FLEX-2. The
cable features a Class D 150° C
temperature rating, and 600 V
or 1,000 V capability.
The EXRAD ERGO FLEX-2 is
an irradiation cross-linked poly-
olefin designed to expand and
contract through temperature
excursions, while maintaining
its connector seal.
Richard Antic, VP of Business
Development at Champlain,
said, “This product development
was born from a large US auto-
motive OEM who had a prob-
lem with operator ergonomics
and repetitive motion concerns
caused by a stiffer cable. All of
our EXRAD battery cables are
‘flexible,’ but flexible is in the eye
of the beholder. The industry
needed something better and we
designed this cable to meet that
need.”
