SIR DANCEALOT is fancied to
rack up the ‘double double’ in the
Group 2 Unibet Hungerford
Stakes (3.35) at Newbury today.
Twelve months ago, the David
Elsworth-trained five-year-old
received a typically polished ride from
French master Gérald Mossé to land
this race from Dream Of Dreams.
The son of Sir Prancealot’s length-
and-a-quarter supremacy came on
the back of a last-gasp victory in the

Lennox Stakes, also a Group 2 test, at
the Qatar Goodwood Festival 18
days earlier.
And Sir Dancealot once
more makes the trip from
Newmarket boasting a
last-time-out Lennox
Stakes win, having proved
a length too strong for this
afternoon’s rival Hey
Gaman on the South Downs,
with the reopposing Flaming Spear
( fifth), Space Traveller (sixth) and

Donjuan Triumphant (eighth) further
back.
My selection, whose second
success at Goodwood for
Elsworth (left) was gained
in more comfortable
fashion than his first, has
to shoulder a 3lb penalty,
just as he did in 2018.
But seven-furlong
specialist Sir Dancealot is as
good as ever and is fancied to
prove up to the job.
