Best of Show at the Rolls-Royce
Enthusiasts’ Club Annual Rally at
Burghley House from 21-23 June
was Anthony Maclean’s Bentley
S1 Continental drophead (above),

marking the brand’s centenary.

Members of the North of England
Classic and Pre War Automobiles
Club visited St Oswald’s Hospice,
Northumberland, during Children’s
Hospice Week (17-23 June) to
present a cheque for £500. The
club also brought a few classics,
including an Austin Metropolitan
and Riley RM Roadster.
EAGLE FLIES HIGH
Jaguar E-type specialist Eagle
hosted a triple celebration at the
Goodwood Festival of Speed: 35
years of the firm, 25 of the Eagle
E-type and 10 of the Speedster.
Owners from around the world
joined the three-day gathering.
SPA SPECTACULAR
Leamington Rotary Club’s first
classic car show was a great
success, with more than 100
cars filling the Pump Room
Gardens in Royal Leamington
Spa on 30 June, along with
displays from local specialists
and the British Motor Museum.
Cars star at new Clark museum
C&SC is delighted to be teaming up
with the brilliant Motorclassica in
Melbourne, Australia, to sponsor
the Club Sandwich awards as part
of our ongoing support for the
classic car club movement.
This year marks the 10th anni-
versary of Motorclassica, which
returns to Melbourne’s Royal Exhi-
bition Building from 11-13
October. And anniversaries will be
a theme for this year’s show, with

A rare 1958 Ferrari 250GT LWB
California Spider is anticipated
to become one of the world’s
most expensive cars ever sold
at auction when it goes under
the hammer at Gooding & Co’s
Pebble Beach sale on 16-17
August. The 11th of just 50
long-wheelbase Californias, the
Spider is in pristine condition
following a full restoration.
The matching-numbers car is
in desirable covered-headlights
spec, and boasts period racing
history. It will be offered with
an eye-watering estimate of
