MONTEREY CAR WEEK
9-18 AUGUST
Probably the world’s foremost celebration of classic cars, Monterey Car
Week is now so big that it sprawls beyond the Californian city and lasts for
10 days. Kicking off with a show in downtown Monterey, it then takes in a
series of races at the famous Laguna Seca circuit, a tour along the Pacific
coast, a massive automobilia show, the glitzy Quail concours, Concorso
Italianio and several huge auctions. It peaks, in style, at the Pebble Beach
Concours d’Elegance on the final day – a fitting end to a wonderful week.

INTERNATIONAL
MINI MEETING
8-12 AUGUST
There’s no shortage of Mini-focused
events this year – the National Metro
& Mini Show at the British Motor
Museum on 4 August is also worthy
of mention – but the IMM is our pick.
It only comes to the UK once every
five years, and the fact that this visit
coincides with the diminutive icon’s
60th is perfect timing. A festival in
every sense, with live music all four
days, it takes place at Washingpool
Farm near Bristol. With nearly 300
clubs in attendance, there’s sure to
be plenty of cars to enjoy, too.

SALON PRIVÉ
5-8 SEPTEMBER
Now firmly established as one of
the UK’s top concours, Salon Privé
has been expanded to four days
this year, with a cheaper public day
closing proceedings. In addition to
the competition there are driving
tours and exclusive hypercar
debuts, plus enough luxury brands
that you might think you’ve
wandered into a Harrods summer
party. With a special Bentley
tribute forming the centrepiece
and with the stunning Blenheim
Palace as the backdrop, it
promises to be quite a show.
