information is also coming to Apple Maps,
with Apple offering information about flight
terminals, gate locations, and departure times to
help users catch their next connection.

Other new features include Look Around,
Apple’s Google Street View alternative, though
it’s currently limited to California and Nevada,
whilst Collections and Favorites allow you to
save locations you visit often and aggregating
locations, such as attractions to visit on vacation.

MESSAGES GIVEN SOME LOVE

Apple has given its Messages app some love
in iOS 13 to better compete with the likes of
Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. Now, users
can add a name and photo which will be shared
with other users when starting a conversation,
and new Memoji options allow for makeup,
teeth, piercings, earrings, headwear, and glasses,
alongside new hairstyles and colors, whilst new
Animoji include a mouse, octopus, and cow on
Messages and FaceTime.

Taking a leaf out of Bitmoji, iOS 13 creates
Memoji and Animoji stickers based on emotions
such as happiness, sadness, and celebration,
and these can be used on a number of iOS apps,
including Mail, appearing next to emoji when
you tap the emoji key on the keyboard.

FaceTime includes a new feature called Attention
Correction which will adjust your eyes to make
it look as though you’re making eye contact
with the person you’re FaceTiming, though this
new feature is limited to the iPhone XS, XS Max,
XR, and 2018 iPad Pro models.
