at the Foot Of The Mountains
Sometimes there’s nothing more important than the search for the perfect
shoe, or you don’t realize you need the perfect shoe until you see it! This
is how Emma and Jen discovered Foot of the Mountains 14 yrs ago as
customers – drooling over the unique and beautiful shoes that appeared
every season in the windows. They loved being able to find beautifully
made, European, unusual shoes that you didn’t see anywhere else. This is
what drew them to the shop with anticipation each season.
In November 2018, as the opportunity arose, they became the owners
of Foot of the Mountains- taking their love of shoes and handbags to the
next level – wanting everyone to be able to wear shoes they love. As a
tribute to their long relationship with the business, they have placed Jen’s
first Foot of the Mountains shoe purchase in the shop to remind them
where it all started.
Both are local women who became friends when their eldest daughters
started preschool together in Winmalee in 2007. Jen has grown up in the
Mountains and Emma has lived here for 19yrs. They have settled in and
started to make the shop reflect their style. The new logo and branding
communicates a sense of place and a new chapter in the long story of the
shop – the soles of shoes that also reference trees or mountains.
Two other members of the team are Tiffany who works casually and
Bruce – a customer magnet Cavoodle puppy who spends days in the
shop and is always keen for a cuddle and a pat!
The focus of the shop remains the divine European shoe labels that are
known and loved with the addition of some beautiful new labels across
the shoes, handbag and clothing ranges. Comfort, quality and fantastic
design are what matters to Emma and Jen when purchasing shoes each
season.
They love the village of Glenbrook and have been warmly welcomed
into the community. Emma and Jen have a very strong customer focus
and get great joy out of interacting with their customers in the quest to
find the right shoe for a special occasion, a hard to fit foot, work, a special
holiday or just for the love of owning a beautiful shoe!
You will always be welcome in the store, whether browsing or on a
mission, and they are always happy to do as much as they can to ensure
you walk away with a smile. As Bette Midler said “I firmly believe that with
