PHOTOGRAPHY LAN DANIELS AND
EMANUEL CONOMOS
In June, Braemar Gallery, Springwood hosted
dual exhibitions “Captured by Silk Threads” and
“Flora Sensa”. Opened by Dennis Wilson, husband
of the Governor of NSW, Margaret Beazley and
Patron of the Embroiderers’ Guild NSW, guests
included the NSW Consul-General of Japan Mr
Kenzo Takawaka, and Ms Wendy Schmid, the
President of the Embroiderers’ Guild of NSW. The
large crowd enjoyed Mr Wilson’s entertaining
speech and to conclude he said: “Contemplating
the pieces on display (you can’t simply look at
them), and then on leaving this place I would not be
surprised if you carried with you a pleasant sense of
wellbeing and inner peace. That is what the art on
exhibition here conveys to me.”
