SUSTAIN CAFE SERVING

WHOLESOME FOOD & COFFEE

s a parentofsmallchildren,seeingthe
growingamountofplasticin ouroceans
and in our own Blue Mountains National
Park, made me feel at times helpless and
overwhelmed. So, late in 2018, I decided it was
time to start doing what I can, to make a little
bit of difference in the world, and hopefully, help
others do the same.
As a passionate ‘zero-waster’, it was time for
me to leave behind my city-based career in law
and as cliché as it sounds to ‘follow my dreams’. I
had been chronically unwell for a few years, and
knew that it was not only time to base myself
solely in the mountains, doing what I love, but
also to give back to the residents and community
who nurtured me and my family, during those
difficult times.
Eco Mountain and our café that sits within
our premises called ‘Sustain’, were created to
give space to people, to eat, laugh and learn. I
want it to be a place where perhaps seeing what
alternatives are available in the form of refillable
products, reusables, compostables, eco toys
and many more alternatives to every day plastic
items, might inspire or even spark curiosity in
people’s minds about how they consume in their

own lives. For those already on the path towards
sustainable living and zero-waste lifestyles, we
have plenty of products to help you to continue
on that journey.
We occupy one of the most beautiful, late
1800’s, homes of historical significance in
Badgery Crest Lawson. Not only are we a
store, we are an all day café, with streaming
northern sun and gorgeous views from our wall
of windows. Our coffee and desserts are fast
becoming known around the Mountains as some
of the best!
Sustainability and kindness are at the core of
all we do.
We provide fresh, wholesome, seasonal food.
From warming casseroles and soups, to plant
based nourish bowls and delicious toasties, made
on Black Cockatoo bread. We source as much

local product we can. We are even growing our
own Oyster Mushrooms in our ‘Shroom Room’,
which will be operational very soon.
But more than that, we want to be known
as the café where people feel welcomed and
valued. Nothing pleases us more than seeing
children immersed in play in our dedicated play
room, filled with toys, chalk boards, books and
more, while the ‘grown-ups’ eat happily without
interruption. And what I sight it is to see our
huge gardens filled with families enjoying our
slide, swings and cubby house and of course,
experiencing our range of parties we offer on the
grounds.

Come and visit us. You will be surprised at
what’s inside. Eco Mountain and Sustain Cafe 3
