Begin either runner with a 2" plain-weave hem using
only the 5/2 pearl cotton.

Continue weaving the runner of your choice following
the draft in Figure 2, using the 5/2 pearl cotton as your
fi ne weft and the doubled mop cotton as your heavy weft and
including the fi ne weft with the heavy weft picks. End with a 2"
hem as at the beginning.

Weave 2 picks of scrap yarn and start the second runner.
When the second runner is complete, weave a few picks
of scrap yarn to protect the weft and remove the fabric from
the loom.

Fold the hem allowance over, then over again. Press and
hand- or machine-stitch in place.

Wash by hand in warm water using gentle detergent.
Remove excess water by rolling in a terry-cloth towel.
Hang to dry over a shower rod.
