Draw A Byzantine Mosaic
Start with a simple pencil drawing (1) and draw the outline in black pen using dashed lines (2). Then,
draw pencil lines for the individual tiles around the outlined spaces (3). Draw lines of tiles that show
the contours of the drawing — curve them around the edges of shapes, just as Byzantine mosaic
makers did. In the background, you can draw the lines of tiles to make curves, circles, or sunburst-
like lines (3). Now, color in each tile, using a range of shades to bring out the shape of your drawing
