There’snohidingthehorsepowerpotentialoftheCumminsenginegiventhelargerturborequiredRandyto
builda customhoodtoclearthecompressor.Thedischargeportionofthehoodalsointegratesintoa custom
cowlhood,whichtakescareoftheheightproblemsassociatedwithCumminsswaps.

ThefrontofWeaver’sCudais allsteel—andallcustom.Thebumpersareactuallyoffofa ’69Camaro,andtheroadrace-inspiredcenterspoileris a pieceofWeaver’sowndesign.

andsecuredwithARP 625 studsandhashadtheintake
shavedoff.A side-draftintakeandmatchingvalvecover

andan“evenlarger” 80 mmS400thatcombinetosend
80 psiofboostthrougha Mishimotointercooler.Forfuel-
ing,it startswitha customtankthatfeedsa Fuelablift
pumpandthensendsfuelthrougha PPEDualFuelerkit
toIndustrialInjectionraceinjectors.Tuningis handledby
GorillaDieselthrougha factory‘10DodgeECM.

If youthinkit wouldtakeoneheckofa transmissionto
standuptothismonsterofanengine,you’dberight.Ran-
dy’sTransmissionshasyearsofexperiencewithDodge
automatics,andhebuilta 48RE-basedslushboxthatwas
morethanuptothetask.Witha triple-discconverter,
manualvalvebody,andshortoutputshaftconversion,the
Dodge-basedunitfitsnicelyunderthecarwhilehandling
theengine’simmensepower.

Witha dieselpowerplant’storqueinmind,Randydecided
toditchthestockframecompletelyandgowitha Road-
sterShopFastTrackchassis.Builtoutof10-gaugesteel,
theframefeaturesa C6corvette-stylefrontendalong
withtheever-popularFord9-inch,witha 4-linkoutback.
Therearendhasalsobeensuitablymodifiedforthediesel
engine’storque,with3.50gears, 35 splineaxles,anda
