ofthetrucksenteredweretechnicallythesamevehiclesas
previousyearsbuthaddrasticallychanged.TonyBurkhard
broughta newmuchlighter“LastMinuteHooker”GM,
whichhadalsobeenswitchedoverfromanAllison 1000
transmissiontoa RosslerTurbo400.Rudy’sDieseltooka huge
weightcutandslammeditstrucktotheground—somuchso
thatturningreallywasn’tanoption!ChrisBuhidarandWade
Minter’shard-chargingtrucksremainedlargelyunchanged.
Therewerealsonewentrantsfor 2019 suchasKodiKoch’s
wildtwo-wheeldrivethataimedtodominatethedragraces
anddynoevents.
WhiletheFordandGMcrowdmadea resurgencethisyear,the
Cummins-poweredcontingentwasasstrongasalways.Last
year’swinningtruckownedbyLavonMillerwassoldtoJosh
Scruggs,whowaslookingfora repeatwinwithhimselfatthe
helm.ToddWelchandPowerDrivenDieselhadmadesomebig
powerin testingandhaddonesomelighteningaswell.The
ArmorInc./ DynomiteDieselProductsentryhaddoneperhaps
themostprepoutofanyteam,makingmultipledynorunsat
2,000rwhptogetthetruckreliable.TrevorPeterson(known
