For2019,BMWMotorradhaveditchedthe46-mmSachsforkinfavourofa 45-

mmMarzocchiunitwith 120 mmoftravel,whileat thereartheÖhlinshardwarehas

alsobeenreplacedbya Marzocchimonoshockwith 117 mmoftravel.Themonoshock

is nowalmostverticallyorientedandmovedfurtherback,awayfromtheengine,to

reducetheeffectsofthemotor’sheatonthedampingcharacteristics.Thesecond

generationofBMW’sDynamicDamping

Control(DDC)doesdutyinthe 2019 S 1000

RRandelectronicallyadjuststhedamping

severaltimesa secondtosuittheconditions.

Thesystemironsoutsmallbumpsand

undulations,providessupportunderhard

braking,andpreventsrearwheelsquatunder

hardacceleration,constantlyworkingto

maintaina neutralchassispitchunderever

varyingconditions.
