SCOTT MCROY

Who do you support?
The recently crowned six-time European
champions, Liverpool.
Who’s your favourite player?
I think it has to be the original Ronaldo,
a totally unique player. Ronaldinho has
to get a mention, too. He was a magician
and a complete entertainer. He actually
posted a piece I produced of him, which
was both surreal and amazing.
What’s your favourite football
illustration from your own work?
Probably the first design I ever properly
produced – a movie poster interpretation
of the Nike Airport advert in 1998. It was
the first World Cup I can remember and
Brazil, with Ronaldo as their talisman,
were the side that everyone was buzzing
about pre-tournament. I think the piece
garnered decent press and was a good
entry into the scene at the time. Just
recently, Nike asked if they could display
it in their European HQ.

MARCUS MARRITT

Who do you support?
My family are Manchester United fans,
but I will have nothing to do with the
club while the current owners are there.
Who’s your favourite player?
Peter Schmeichel. Changed goalkeeping
forever. Remember those long throws?
What’s your favourite football
illustration from your own work?
I have a soft spot for La Bombonera
and the Parc des Princes in the my
HOME series of stadium illustrations.

Who’s your favourite football
illustrator?
Osvaldo Casanova. Beautiful name and
even more beautiful work.
What’s the best piece of commercial
work you’ve done?
I would say the 2019 FA Cup semi-final
programme covers. It’s a prime example
of the universe connecting and doing
the work you want to do. A close second
is the match promo artwork I created
for Leicester in the Champions League
that was commissioned by BT Sport.
