How did you first get into football
illustration?
I worked on titles like Sports Illustrated
and was formerly creative director of
digital content at ESPN. I was getting so
bored with management and “leading
teams” at media companies. I needed
a reminder of why I wanted to become
a graphic designer and artist in the first
place. The Sporting Press was my outlet
and my opportunity to tell stories about
the sport I loved to people who ‘got it’.
I discovered an amazing and supportive
football illustration community, and
a few months ago I thought sod it, quit
the day job, and committed full-time!
