WILDFOWL AND

WETLANDS TRUST,

LLANELLI

Young intrepid explorers and wildlife-
loving families are sure to love the new
canoe safaris running at WWT in Llanelli.
Visitors young and old can paddle their way
around reed-lined pools whilst looking out
for kingfishers, dragonflies, water voles
and more. Those who prefer staying on
dry land also have the option to jump on a
bike and explore. Or if that’s not for you,
discover the wetland’s new sculpture, The
Bell, designed by Dutch artist Bouke Groen,
inspired by the surrounding landscape and
aiming to encourage visitors to engage in
the debate around climate change.
Tickets from £6.10

If you prefer your entertainmentto
be of the woolly variety, then join the
folk who flock to the Sheep Festival to
celebrate with sheep dog trials, woolly
crafts, cookery demonstrations and even
sheep racing. There’s also a Viking Camp
with battle re-enactments and a ‘Kiddie
Vike’ club, where your little ones can
battle with Vikings. There’s also plenty
of artisan food producers, craft courses
and local music. This is a great day to
rough your wool up and celebrate these
much-loved Welsh animals!
