Kate Winslet to contact the
genealogy show.
The actress was delighted to be told that she does
have Swedish heritage – but her joy turned to tears
when she discovered her great-great-great-great
grandparents Anders and Anna were slaves.
‘Anna couldn’t even produce milk for their baby
because she was starving,’ says Kate. ‘Anders
was sentenced to 35 lashes for stealing potatoes
and died in prison. I was crying my eyes out.’
