Eliminating the sashing created a
secondary design in this nine-block
version of Country French. “It was
surprising to see a diff erent star
design appear when blocks were
set together,” quilt tester Colleen
Tauke says. “To make the Four-Patch
centers of the secondary stars, I
oriented the darker squares to the
outside of the corner units.”
