▫ 1—2^1 ⁄ 2 × 4 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangle

▫ 3—2^1 ⁄ 2 × 3 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangles

▫ 2—1^1 ⁄ 2 × 10 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangles

▫ 4—1^1 ⁄ 2 × 4 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangles

▫ 4—1^1 ⁄ 2 × 2 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangles

From assorted gold prints, cut 16

matching sets of:

▫ 2—2^1 ⁄ 2 × 3 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangles

From brown print, cut:

▫ 8—3^7 ⁄ 8 " squares

▫ 13—2^1 ⁄ 2 " squares

▫ 16—2× 2 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangles

From cream-and-red plaid, cut:

▫ 32—2× 2 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangles

From brown stripe, fussy-cut:

▫ 16—2^1 ⁄ 2 ×11" rectangles

From cream-and-brown plaid, cut:

▫ 24—2^1 ⁄ 2 × 12 1 ⁄ 2 " sashing strips

From brown house print, cut

lengthwise:

▫ 4—8^1 ⁄ 2 × 58 1 ⁄ 2 " border strips

From remaining brown house

print, cut:

▫ 8—2^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" binding strips

ASSEMBLE HOUSE BLOCKS

Measurements include^1 ⁄ 4 " seam

allowances. Sew with right sides

together unless otherwise stated.

Press seams in directions indicated

by arrows on diagrams. If no direction

is specified, press seam toward darker

fabric.

squares, two cream print 1^1 ⁄ 2 × 9 1 ⁄ 2 "

rectangles, one gold print set (two

squares), one assorted print 3^1 ⁄ 2 × 12 1 ⁄ 2 "

rectangle, one 2^1 ⁄ 2 × 4 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangle from

a second assorted print, and from a

third assorted print three 2^1 ⁄ 2 × 3 1 ⁄ 2 "

rectangles, two 1^1 ⁄ 2 × 10 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangles,

four 1^1 ⁄ 2 × 4 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangles, and four

1 1 ⁄ 2 × 2 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangles.

Use a pencil to mark a diagonal

line on wrong side of each cream

print 3^1 ⁄ 2 " square.

Align marked cream print

squares with ends of assorted

print 3^1 ⁄ 2 × 12 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangle (Diagram 1;

note direction of marked lines). Sew

on marked lines; trim excess fabric,

leaving^1 ⁄ 4 " seam allowances. Press

open attached triangles to make a

Roof Unit. The unit still should be

FINISHED QUILT: 741 ⁄ 2 " square
