blocks using nature
prints that have a gold
metallic shimmer
for an art quilt look.
She stacked the two
blocks to make a
graphic 18½×32½"
wall hanging.

ASSEMBLE B BLOCKS

Referring to Diagram 30, lay
out one of each B unit. Sew
together units in pairs; join pairs to
make Block B. The block should be
18½×16½" including seam allowances.

Repeat Step 1 with remaining
B units to make five B blocks total.

ASSEMBLE QUILT TOP

Referring to Quilt Assembly
Diagram, lay out blocks in
four rows.

Sew together blocks in rows. Press
seams in one direction, alternating
direction with each row. Join rows to
make quilt center; press seams in one
direction. The quilt center should be
54 1 ∕ 2 × 64 1 ∕ 2 " including seam allowances.

Cut and piece gray circle print
2 1 ∕ 2 ×42" strips to make:
▫ 2—2^1 ∕ 2 × 64 1 ∕ 2 " border strips
▫ 2—2^1 ∕ 2 × 58 1 ∕ 2 " border strips

Sew long border strips to long
edges of quilt center. Add short
border strips to remaining edges
to complete quilt top. Press seams
toward border.


FINISH QUILT

backing; baste. (For details, see

Black machine-quilted parallel
curved lines in each unit and a
circle design in the border (Quilting
