Sew together rows and red print
1 1 ∕ 2 × 14 1 ∕ 2 " sashing strips to make
quilt center. Press seams toward
sashing strips. The quilt center should
be 14^1 ∕ 2 " square including seam
allowances.

Sew red dot 1^1 ∕ 2 × 14 1 ∕ 2 " border strips
to opposite edges of quilt center.
Add red dot 1^1 ∕ 2 × 16 1 ∕ 2 " border strips to
remaining edges to complete quilt top.
Press all seams away from quilt center.

diagonal grid across the quilt center
and border, creating an X in the center
of each block (Quilting Diagram).

Bind with black print binding
strips. To use double-fold binding,
see Complete Quilt. To use single-
fold binding, follow instructions in
Complete Quilt, but do not fold binding
strip in half lengthwise. Fold raw
edge under^1 ∕ 4 " before hand-stitching
binding in place.
