THEY SAID IT...
I’m very pleased with a point but
also know we need to improve. We
are in a process where we need to
improve in all areas and the team
is going to improve step by step.
MAURICIO POCHETTINO
Manchester City failed to win a
Premier League game for the first
time in 16 games, since losing 2-1
to Newcastle in January 2019.
Tottenham are without a win in
seven away league games (D1 L6)
for the first time since a run of eight
games without a victory ending in
April 2012 (D4 L4).
City mustered 30 shots in the
game, the most Tottenham have
faced in a Premier League fixture
since November 2011 (31 v Fulham).
Raheem Sterling has been directly
involved in seven goals in his last
seven games for Man City against
Spurs in all competitions (6 goals, 1
assist), including netting five in his
last four against them at the Etihad.
Sterling has scored in four
consecutive club appearances in
all competitions for the first time
in his career, netting seven goals.

FROM FRONT PAGE
League chairmen who
voted to bring forward the
transfer deadline know
they were wrong and that
they must switch the date
back for next year.
Pochettino has been at
loggerheads with Levy
(below) all summer long
and has rarely missed a
chance to have a public dig
at his boss over transfers
and even his own job title.
“I wasn’t in agreement
but at that moment they
believed that was best for
the clubs,” said
Pochettino. “But
I think he and a
lot of people
now realise it
was a massive
mistake.
“I hope that
we fix the problem
for next season.
“I think we need to go
back and operate in the
same way that they
operate in Europe because
I think it’s massive when
you go to compete in the
Europa League or
Champions League.
“Champions League
teams can be a problem
for a team like us. I cannot
be happy as a coach that
in the last three or four
weeks clubs from Europe
can unsettle your team.
“For me it’s not
common sense and we
need to go back (to the old
date). I hope they have a
good conversation at the
Premier League and go
back quickly.”
