THOMAS FRANK reckons
Pontus Jansson can break
Leeds’ hearts this week.
The Brentford defender
returns to Elland Road on

time since leaving in July.
The Swede, 28 (above),
was a cult figure for Leeds
fans, but left in part due to
issues with boss Marcelo
Bielsa – and Bees manager
Frank wants Jansson to use
that as inspiration against
his former club.

IT WAS one of those games
where you need an interpreter
to translate what the managers
really mean.
Marco Silva, for instance, was
happy with the result, but disap-
pointed with his Everton side’s
performance.
Conversely, visiting boss Javi
Gracia was distinctly unhappy with
the lack of points, but was appar-
ently perfectly satisfied with the
way they played.
Both though agreed on one thing:
Blues keeper Jordan Pickford
turned the game with a couple of
fine saves to deny Watford at least
the point that their energetic
display deserved.
It has been a big turnaround for
Pickford since the low points of last
season, which had some question-
ing whether he had let England’s
World Cup glory go to his head a
little.
There was that shocking error in
the Merseyside derby ( far right),
and an even worse one at Newcas-
tle (above right), where he admitted
he had made the mistake of letting
