(^28) ARMANI EXCHANGE
AX 2802
Coming from the fashion
world, AX’s watches are all
about the aesthetic. Its latest
collection at Baselworld
displayed a dark, industrial-
chic theme that works
perfectly for when you want
to dress in head-to-toe black.
Of the series, the AX 2802
is a simple quartz-powered
dress watch, boasting a
gradient black dial with a
brushed steel effect on the
bezel and bracelet. Subtle and
understated in its elegance,
it’s an easy, accessible and
handy addition to a wardrobe.
(^29) TISSOT
Gentleman Automatic
Over the years, we’ve
seen Tissot produce some
remarkable, bold sports
watches. So seeing a classic
dress watch from the Swiss
brand is a nice change
of pace. The Gentleman
Automatic boasts simple yet
impactful visuals, with an 18K
pink gold bezel, a grain finish
on the dial and a crosshair
in the centre. Underneath is
a silicon balance spring to
negate magnetic interference,
along with a staggering
80-hour power reserve
and water resistance up to
50m. Impressive stuff, for
what’s supposed to be a
simple watch.
(^30) RADO
True Thinline Les Couleurs
Rado describes itself as a
master of materials, and
has long championed the
notion that the future of
watch innovation lies in
experimenting with new,
fade-resistant, anti-allergen
substances. Its True Thinline
collection is essentially an
extension of that belief, using
high-tech ceramic to create
monochromatic dress watches
with a smooth finish. This
year, the collection gets nine
watches that showcase colours
from architecture legend
Les Corbusier’s Polychromy
colour theory. Given that these
shades are exclusive to Rado’s
collection, the watches make
for a pretty rare and exclusive
sartorial choice.
