The sort of attention
to detail and near-
bespoke levels of
craftsmanship and
creativity found in
Lexus cars hasn't
been seen since the
coac h b u i lt e r a
wheel steering for the Sport+ model). In Comfort or Eco,
it immediately flexes its grand touring muscles, even
as its suspension, though softened, continues to lean
towards being sporty, switching to reading the surface like
Braille when in Sport+ mode. While public roads aren’t
the arena to bring the engine to a screaming crescendo at
its peak 7,100rpm, short sprints give you a sense of just
how urgently the LC deploys power, with the meat of the
powerband lying somewhere above 4,000rpm. All in all, the
LC works like a high-priced espresso shot, electrifying you
at a sub-atomic level.
With the addition of the UX and the LC, both ends of
the brand’s luxury spectrum now have heavy hitters to
defend their respective territories. Not a bad way to enter
a new decade.
