000 FEBRUARY 2019
STAY DRY
Rainy weather bricks your
chances of looking your
best, especially when you’re
heading into work or out for
the night. And umbrellas can
be a burden to carry. Luckily,
designers are using their
powers to make rainwear
look less juvenile. This slick
Corneliani trench is tricked
out with performance
details and works at fancier
functions. Hell, you might
even want to wear it on
GQ EYE cloudless days.

STYLE
FOR HER
The last time Alber Elbaz was in
the hot seat was in 2015, when
he was red from couture house
Lanvin after a decade-long stint.
Not one to lay low however, the
inimitable designer is back with
a line of women’s shoes and
bags – his more robust irtation
with product – in collaboration
with Tod’s. The collection,
Happy Moments, is part of the
Italian brand’s T-Factory project:
a series of one-offs with assorted
creative partners inspired
by the idea of Andy Warhol’s
Factory (in name at least, if not
much else). You may want to
snag a product quick to keep
your missus very, very happy.

IN THE NEWS
By this point, you should know
that anything designer Alessandro
Michele throws your way out of
Gucci will have some art-culture-
cinema-style connotation that
should inform your brain trust.
His most recent drop is a collab
with Spring Breakers and The
Beach Bum director Harmony
Korine on a coffee table book.
The tome, Gucci By Harmony
Korine, showcases the Pre-Fall
2019 collection (photographed
in the ancient Roman towns of
Herculaneum or Ercolano and
Pompeii) but is really a collector’s
item, with visuals that’ll delight
even years later.
GLOBAL LOCAL
There was a time when you had to
y overseas to get your hands on
some really good designer merch,
but over the last decade The
Collective has shaken up the
game by stocking cool labels from
Prada to DSquared2. The latest?
Etro and Philipp Plein’s high-
octane suiting brand Billionaire.
The former throws up menswear
carrying vintage vibes in ultra-
modern silhouettes, while the
latter is your go-to for a sexy
tuxedo that’s guaranteed to make
an impact.
