Tims Dairy has been
producing fresh,
award-winning Greek-
style yoghurt made with
British milk since 1949.
The London Collection
of yoghurts combines
healthy ingredients,
providing a rich source
of protein, calcium,
B vitamins and bio-live
cultures with delicious
flavours. The Rhubarb
& Rose variety is
available from Ocado
for £1 for a 150g pot
(waitrose.com).
Finest Traditional Halloumi
With Fresh Mint, £3 for 200g,
Tesco (tesco.com)
The fresh mint gives this
halloumi a lovely fresh aroma
and taste but it does slightly
overpower the cheese. The
texture
is a little
soft for
our taste,
too.
Cypriot Halloumi With Basil,
£2.49 for 225g, Lidl (lidl.co.uk)
This halloumi is rich and
buttery with a mild, salty taste.
The texture is good and meaty, it
is easy to slice and it holds its
shape
well
when
heated.
A very
tasty
cheese.
Essential Cypriot Halloumi,
£2.55 for 250g, Waitrose
(as before)
This slices well without
being too crumbly but this
Cypriot halloumi’s flavour
is a little too subtle and
lacking a
decent
salty tang.
It needs
to pack
more
flavour.
Taste The Difference Tangy &
Salty Cypriot Halloumi, £3.10
for 250g, Sainsbury’s (as before)
Made with 100 per cent Cypriot
sheep and goat’s milk, this
halloumi has a good firm texture
and a nice buttery aroma,
with a
subtle
saltiness.
Another
delicious
cheese.
Violife is the leading vegan plant-based alternative to
cheese in the UK. The Prosociano Wedge has an
authentic hard cheese flavour and texture but is
totally dairy and gluten free – it’s perfect grated on
pasta or eaten with crackers. It costs £3 for 150g
from Sainsbury’s (sainsburys.co.uk).
This stylish acacia wood grater is from the new
collection of kitchenware from Zara Home. The
wood is coated in a vegetable-based protection
treatment but is not suitable for dishwashers. It
costs £9.99 (zarahome.com).
M&S is the first retailer
on the high street to
launch a range of
charcuterie crisps. The
tasty savoury snacks are
made from 100 per cent
Italian and Spanish pork
and are cured in the
traditional way, then
air-dried by charcuterie
experts in the Pyrenees.
The Spanish Serrano
Ham Crisps cost £1.50
per 25g bag and contain
just 99 calories
(marksandspencer.com).
