M
ichelle appears
in this week’s
episode of Born
Famous with her
daughter Bethany,
as the pair return to
Michelle’s roots to
experience the life
Bethany would have
lived had her mum
not found fame and fortune. ‘Bethany
has the super yachts, the mega holidays,
but she doesn’t know how tough it can
be for people,’ says Michelle. ‘I grew
up in a house with no bath or shower.
But I was always ambitious and started
my first business when I was 10.’

STATH LETS FL ATS
Monday, 10pm C4 Comedy
T
otal incompetence,
a disposition to
make achingly
foolish decisions and an
eagerness to please his
dad were the essence
of lettings agent Stath
(Jamie Demetriou) when
he first appeared in the
comedy series last year.
Now imbecilic Stath
and his colleagues are
back for a second
series, but this time
Michael & Eagle
Lettings has a brash
new boss at the helm.
New wave
Smug estate agent
Julian (Dustin Demri-
Burns), who previously
worked for the rival
agency next door, has
been given the top job
by Stath’s dad, Vasos,
who owns the company.
‘This doesn’t go down
at all well with Stath,’
says Jamie, who not only
stars in the BAFTA-
nominated show but
also wrote it. ‘Julian
wants to embrace the
new wave of moneyed
millennials and hipsters,
so we see Stath having
to integrate with a side
of culture and people
he would never
normally mix with!’
Rivalry
Stath is horrified to
realise he’s been left
out of the glossy new
promotional video for
the agency that Julian’s
created with Dean (Kiell
Smith-Bynoe), Julian’s
favourite employee.
Meanwhile, his rivalry
with colleague Carole
(Katy Wix) is still going
strong, despite their
previous drunken
one-night stand.
‘The love/hate thing
has become hate/hate,’
smiles Jamie, whose
real sister Natasia
reprises her role as his
on-screen sister, Sophie.
‘All Stath really wants
to do is start a family,’
continues Jamie. ‘As
a Greek Cypriot guy,
he feels he’s lagging
behind. He’s 29, so as
far as he’s concerned,
he should have had
about 15 kids by now!’ Q

Dr Chris Coxley
in Brassic (see p13).
This comedy drama
focuses on the
tightknit friendship
between a group of
working-class mates
in Lancashire. One
of them, Vinnie (Joe Gilgun),
constantly struggles with his bipolar
disorder and is regularly seen going
to his GP Chris for help. It’s in the
surgery that the two form a unique
bond, despite Dr Chris not being the
most helpful of doctors...
