hair, and this upright doesn’t

disappoint. It delivers superb

pet-hair pickup, aces carpet

and bare-floor tests, and

serves up impressive suction.

It’s also fairly quiet and has a

brush on/off switch to protect

bare floors. But at 22 pounds,

it’s among the heaviest models;

that lowers its handling score.

of the top budget uprights,

offering outstanding value.

It excels at capturing all the

dust it picks up, important if

you have allergies or other

respiratory problems. And it

class. Any caveats? It’s pretty

noisy and, at 21 pounds, heavy.

but performs well overall. Its

Excellent grades for picking

satisfaction indicate that

many feel it’s worth it.

Fair score for handling.

tests. However, it struggled

with edges and does not do a

battery run time is 19 minutes.

Like most stick models,

this quiet, cordless Shark is

bagless. Still, it did extremely

well in CR’s emissions tests,

as well as at pet-hair and

bare-floor cleanup. A flexible

clean under furniture. And to

tackle trouble spots, it shifts

into high-power mode for

60 seconds. Average battery

run time is 24 minutes.

Picking up all the long, feathery
