RUSSO, Peter


Age 74, of Ashland, passed away peace-
fully on Thursday, August 15th from
complications due to lung cancer.
Pete was a former employee of Den-
nison Mfg., Wang Laboratories, Digital
Equipment Corp., and various export-
ing companies before starting his own
company, Linmac Enterprises, in the
late 1990s. He was currently employed
by Storbridge Global in Nashua, NH.
Pete is survived by Linda, his wife of
32 years, his son John of Framingham,
his son Jimmy of Malden, his sister
Patricia Pampillonia and her husband
Frank of Massachusetts, his sister Diane
Russo-Harris and her husband Dana of
Maine, and many nieces and nephews,
extended family and friends. He was
predeceased by his parents and his
daughter Kimberly of Marlboro.

Joseph and Virginia Hurley. Joseph was
the beloved husband of the late

United States Navy veteran having
served in the Korean War. After his

Science in Taxation from Bentley
College. Joe was a CPA and began his
career at Arthur Anderson. Much of his
career was in the construction industry
as Vice President and controller of
several companies which led to his
working on a variety of interesting
construction projects. In semi-retire-
ment he worked as a tax consultant and
preparer. An avid golfer, Joe was a past
member of the Needham Golf Club and
the Olde Barnstable Golf Club. He was
an active Parishioner at Our Lady of the
Assumption Church in Osterville, MA.
Through his work and hobbies Joe
formed many close friendships. He
delighted in entertaining his family and
friends at his home. Joe was a caring,
charming, generous and thoughtful
person. He always had “a few kind
words” for everyone. Joe brightened the
lives of all who were lucky enough to
meet him. He will be sadly missed and
lovingly remembered. We are all better

GOODWIN, Edward R.


Of Canton, formerly of South Boston,
died suddenly August 18, 2019 after
a brief but courageous battle with
liver cancer. He was 71 years old. His
beloved friend, partner and wife of 39
years Jane Guilfoyle was by his side. Ed
was retired from the Commonwealth of
MA as a contract and finance manager.
Eddie was known for his wit, intel-
ligence, love of music and movies and
his commanding knowledge of trivia.
He enjoyed travelling the New England
coast especially Cape Cod and southern
Maine. He was a talented amateur chef
and enjoyed hosting meals for friends
and family. Beloved husband of Jane
M. Guilfoyle of Canton. Son of the late
James and Julia Goodwin. He is sur-
vived by his siblings Paul Goodwin and
his wife Elaine Eagar of South Boston
and Falmouth, Judith Goodwin of Crys-
tal River, FL, and James Goodwin and
his wife Shelly Mitchell of Germany. He
leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins

“Nana” (Payne)
Of Randolph, formerly of Roxbury,
passed away peacefully at home, sur-
rounded by her loving family, after a
brief illness on August 17, 2019, at the
age of 95. Born and raised in Guanta-
namo Bay, Cuba, Josephine immigrated
to the United States and settled down
with her family. She worked as a
teacher’s aide for the Boston Public
Schools for over 30 years, prior to her
retirement. She was the former trea-
surer of St. John’s St. James Episcopal
Church in Roxbury for many years.
She was a hardworking and dedicated
woman, receiving numerous awards for
her community service and charitable
donations. In her free time, she had a
passion for puzzles, crocheting, was a
gifted seamstress and enjoyed flower
and vegetable gardening. She was a
very faithful woman who was affec-
tionately known as “Nana” to everyone.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother
and great-grandmother, Josephine
will be sorely missed by all who were
blessed to have known her. Josephine
was the wife of the late Vivian Jackson.

her late husband Hugo of Miami, FL,

professional life as a psychiatrist and
psychoanalyst in private practice, a
field he loved. He was a proud member
of the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute,

displays for their Back Bay office. This
was truly “a labor of love,” as he loved
the visual arts and collected artwork
all his life. He was a veteran of World
War II. Born in New York, he moved
to Lawrence, MA as a teenager, where
he lived with his parents and brother,
William, and sister, Selma, with
extended family close by. Family was
the single most important thing in his
life. Graveside Service will be held on
Wednesday, August 21, at 1:00 pm at
the Pride of Lynn Cemetery, Lake Shore
Rd., Lynn. Following interment, family
