Endowed with considerable strength
by virtue of their reinforced
construction, anti-slip coating and
laminated external glazing, the
DXW roof window is an ideal solution
for flat roofs that double as terraces
as it can also be walked on.

The idea behind Maggie’s Centres is
to create places that can help to
preserve the dignity of patients.
Steven Holl’s design at St.
Bartholomew’s hospital in London
features a facade that changes
depending on the time of day, built
using Kapilux glazing by Okalux.
Integra is an electric window with
remote control that consists of a timber
core coated in white polyurethane
in a single mould with no joints,
ensuring minimal aesthetic impact
in whatever context it is placed. A
control panel means that the
windows can be programmed
according to individual habits.
The exhibition
The exhibition “Re-build in the built
environment” on show at the Milan
Triennale that describes the work
of Capoferri Serramenti, has
recently drawn to a close. Curator
Simona Galateo selected a number
of case studies that presented
different ways of working on the
built environment, moving from the
scale of architecture to the detail of
a door or window frame. The
architecture was described
through a few very specific
elements — photographs, texts,
building plans and technical
drawings. Four works of
architecture were chosen: the
Morgan Library by RPBW in New
York; the Terrazza Triennale by
OBR Paolo Brescia and Tommaso
Principi; Palazzo Aguissola in
Milan, recently renovated by
Michele De Lucchi; and the Tempio
Capitolino in Brescia, a UNESCO
World Heritage Site.
