Chat It’s Fate – September 2019

R

ick Minter, a former
government advisor on
countryside planning and
wildlife management, claims to
have seen fi ve ‘conclusive’
videos of big cats in the UK, and
that there’s a breeding
population of 250 across the
country, including black
panthers and pumas.
He said that much of the
footage is never released
because of the concerns of
landowners. ‘There was one
farmer coming away from a
meeting and he showed it on his
mobile phone,’ he told the Daily
Star Online. ‘We came back
jaw-dropping but he was keeping
it quiet and to himself. Most [of

the landowners] think it’s good if
it’s kept measured and low key. If
they made it known where the
last sighting was, you could get...
vigilantes turning up with guns.’
It’s thought that many wild
cats were let loose in the 1970s
when laws were tightened
surrounding private zoos and
many exotic pets were simply
dumped. In 2000, one former lion
tamer admitted to releasing a
panther and puma in Derbyshire
in 1975.
‘At fi rst I was worried how they
would get on,’ he told the
Birmingham Post. ‘But I went up
to the moors...and saw the bones
of sheep and pheasants, so I
think they adapted pretty well.’

A

paranormal exhibition in the USA has been
forced to close because of...too much
paranormal activity!
According to a story in
paranormaldailynews.com, a rocking chair
that’s said to be possessed by a murderous
demon was purchased by American psychic
investigator Zac Bagans. In the ‘80s, it
belonged to an 11-year-old boy who was
allegedly possessed, and when he was
exorcised, the chair levitated and moved by
itself. Famous paranormal investigators Ed and
Lorraine Warren, the inspiration behind horror
fi lms The Conjuring and Annabelle, claimed to
have seen a devil sitting in the chair.
The chair was meant to be the star of the
show at Zac Bagans’ paranormal museum in
Las Vegas – until intense paranormal activity
put a stop to that. What actually happened has
not been revealed. Our imaginations will just
have to fi ll in the blanks!

L

ast November in Chat it’s fate we featured
the story of the haunted house known as
‘The Cage’ and its owner Vanessa Mitchell’s
struggle to sell it. Well, according to a story in
The Mirror in June, it’s for sale again!
Dubbed ‘the most haunted house in
England’, it was a prison for witches in the 16th
century. Accused witches were kept here
before being taken to be hanged.
Vanessa experienced so much
terrifying paranormal activity while
she was living there - including a
ghostly force pushing her over,
furniture moving and
mysterious blood splatters on
the fl oor - that she moved out in

  1. She’s tried to sell it several
    times since with no success.
The Essex cottage is back on the
market for £240,000. As the place has
a large online following from all round
the world, the estate agents hope to
sell it to international ghost hunters as
    a paranormal investment!
But will the house let Vanessa sell it
    this time? We shall see...
