The Aston Martin DBS
Superleggera is defined by two
things; its breathtaking looks and
sensational engine, but after
spending a weekend with the
astonishing vehicle I’m glad I don’t
own one, because I’d constantly
be torn between standing outside
and admiring the design or
getting inside and starting up the
glorious V12.
There’s no denying the DBS is
the most beautiful car on sale
today. It inherits Aston Martin’s
traditional elegance, but adds a
fresh, raw aggression. It’s bold,
and gets plenty of attention. The
sculpted carbon fibre panels
aren’t just for show either, they
work together to improve the

car’s aerodynamic performance.

At the heart of the car is a

5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine. It

produces 725PS and a tarmac-

rupturing 900Nm of torque. It’ll

dispatch 0 to 62mph in just 3.4

seconds, and, if you can find a

runway long enough, reach a top

speed 211mph. Is that

intimidating? Not at all. We found

the DBS easy and engaging to

drive, with a more dynamic

character to match its aggressive

looks.

Aston Martin has made sure it

doesn’t sacrifice on comfort

though, and, as a result, has

succeeded in creating the

ultimate grand tourer.
