Chrishasbeenattheforefrontof
theisland’sSeabirdRecoveryProject,
whichcompletelyeradicatedrats
fromStAgnesinearly2016.
“Theyfedonboththebirdeggsand
thefledglings,”heexplained.“Weput
downtrapsevery 50 or 100 yards,
whichwecheckeddaily.Wetried
differentthingstotempttheminbut
foundchocolateseemedtowork
particularlywellforours.Wemanaged
toremovetheratsmuchfaster
thananticipated.Fortunately,
