include high-performance ratchets
with 90 teeth for fine movement,
longer handles, and only 4 degrees of

 F-Body Interior Panels
If you are restoring a 1972-1981 Camaro, Firebird, or Trans Am and
are having issues with cabin panels, OER can help. For example,
OER offers these rear lower interior side panels, which fit on either
side of the rear seating area. They’re injection-molded of high-
quality polymer material and sold individually for the left and
right side of the car. They are made in black but can be painted to
match other interior colors. As a manufacturer, OER does not sell
direct to the public, but you can find OER products at a number
of reproduction parts retailers, including Classic Industries.

 Radiator Core Support
Summit Racing Equipment sells a variety of restoration parts
from Goodmark Industries, including radiator core supports
like the second-gen Camaro version shown here. These factory-
replacement parts are made from steel that has been EDP coated
to prevent rusting prior to paint. Other core supports available
from Summit fit first-gen Camaro and Firebird, Chevy II/Nova,
big- and small-block Chevelle/El Camino, Tempest/LeMans/GTO,
and Mustang/Cougar/Shelby G.T. 350. Information: Summit Racing
Equipment, 800/230-3030, summitracing.com.

 AVS^2 Carburetor
Edelbrock has introduced a new version of the AVS carbure-
tor, the AVS2, and says it “delivers drivability with near EFI-like
smoothness.” The AVS2 is based on the Thunder Series AVS carb,
and it features Edelbrock’s Qwik-Tune Secondary Air Valve, which
provides unlimited calibration of the secondary circuit for precise
tuning across the entire rev range. Edelbrock engineers added
annular flow booster technology to the AVS2, which consists of
eight equally spaced orifices in the annular booster rings that
replace the standard down-leg boosters. With down-leg boosters,
atomization doesn’t happen until after the butterflies, but with
the annular flow boosters, atomization occurs instantly. The new

AVS2 carburetors are available in 500-, 650-, and 800-cfm ver-
sions, with manual or electric choke, and in satin or a chromelike
EnduraShine finish. Information: Edelbrock, edelbrock.com.
